Today marks the start of Susan McCuistion’s New Diversity Summit, a week full of diversity and inclusive leadership

This weekend I enjoyed another Star Trek episode. Yes, I’m a Trekkie.

I also read an article from world economic forum- it captured the star trek formula:

Today’s speakers are Dr. Laura Wendt, Monica Marcel, and Sedrik Newbern!

• Dr. Laura Wendt will be presenting on, “Our Brains Are Naturally Wired to Exclude - How do we create an inclusive work culture anyway?” This session addresses the neurology of our brain and how we think, plus ways to help mitigate our biases. Dr. Wendt is Manager of Diversity & Inclusion at A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm. 
• Monica Marcel is partner and co-founder at Language and Culture Worldwide, based in Chicago. Her topic, “Building Cultural Competence,” will give you the foundation you need to understand national cultures and subcultures, as well as provide you with guidelines for reflecting on the many cultures that have influenced you. This session is a great baseline for your learning the week of the summit!
• Relationship expert Sedrik Newbern rounds out today’s presentations with a presentation on “Recreating Relationships.” In it, we talk about building trust and learning how to step into another person’s perspective. Sedrik is a best-selling author with over 25 years of experience helping people build more empowering relationships - both personally and professionally.
